TOOTH IMPLANTS
Doctor Giovanni Bona has always believed and invested greatly in courses and new technologies for this particular method. He has been doing implant surgery since 1994. If you place your trust in us, you can be sure of the result, both cosmetically and functionally speaking.
With the new titanium implants, there are no more long waits, the fixed prosthesis is ready on the same day or alternatively, if there is little bone available or if all teeth are missing, a mobile prosthesis will be offered.
Tooth implants are used to replace missing teeth: titanium screws which are inserted into the bone of the upper or lower jaw bone. The process of osseointegration allows excellent and stable integration of the implant in the bone. NOBELSPEEDY , the new implants with a TiUniteŽ surface, provide a faster rate of osseointegration than the one of traditional implants, allowing us to achieve a more natural gum profile. They make it possible to obtain a primary stability at the time of insertion of the implant and are specifically designed to avoid compromising the bone tissue.

ADVANTAGES OF NOBELSPEEDY NEW IMPLANTS:

  • They are ideal for implants with immediate load (i.e. when implants and prosthesis are placed and loaded within 24 hours after surgery)
  • A greater initial stability in soft bone conditions
  • Excellent cosmetic results
  • TiUniteŽ Surface on the entire implant results in a faster rate of osseointegration - no healing time required.

IMMEDIATE LOAD OF IMPLANTS WITH FIXED PROSTHESIS
This is the new implanting technique that allows the immediate positioning of the prosthesis on the implants without having to wait several months, which is instead the case if the traditional method is used.
The treatment consists in placing four or six implants in the lower or upper arch on which a fixed prosthesis can be screwed immediately after or within 24 hours.
Currently, the results are a success in 100% of cases.

FOR WHOM IT IS RECOMMENDED
This technique is particularly suited to cases of extended or total lack of teeth, of tooth mobility and "pyorrhoea (periodontitis).

THE PROCEDURE

  • the diagnosis is made during the first visit, moulds are taken, photographs are taken, the panoramic X-Rays are performed and a CAT scan is prescribed if necessary
  • during the second visit, the remaining compromised teeth are extracted, the implants are inserted and the mould for the provisional prosthesis is taken. The latter is inserted the next day.
  • The implants are positioned at the front of the jaw bones, which is where the largest quantity and the best quality bone is situated.
  • After three months, the provisional prosthesis is replaced by the definitive one (in resin or ceramic), according to the patient's requirements, since osseointegration is by now complete.

THE ADVANTAGES

  1. The patient can have complete and functional set of teeth straight away.
  2. Minimal treatment and rehabilitation times (fixed teeth at the latest 24 hours after surgery).
  3. Less expensive for the patient: in all cases, a maximum of 6 implants are positioned, which is more than enough to sustain the chewing load.
  4. 100% success rate.
  5. Less need to undergo difficult and expensive pre-implant surgery (such as sinus lifts, bone grafting, etc.), owing to the fact that the implants are positioned in areas where bone is present, and tilted in such a way as to avoid "delicate" anatomical structures such as the lower alveolar nerve and the upper maxillary sinus.

The only precaution patients must take is not to chew hard food for 1 month, and to follow a soft food diet.
After a month, patients can resort to chewing naturally.

NOBEL GUIDEŽ TECHNIQUE FOR IMMEDIATE LOAD
Dental implantology, which envisages the replacement of missing teeth using artificial titanium roots inserted especially into the bone of the lower or upper jaw at the exact placement of the natural tooth, boasts decades of history.

However, it is especially in recent times that certain techniques have been perfected to allow the reduction of biological risks of the patient, the cots and mot of all the therapy duration.
The immediate load procedure is one of these techniques, and it entails the possibility, once the implants have been surgically inserted in the bone, of immediately housing a fixed prosthesis so as to achieve a satisfactory prosthetic rehabilitation in just a single session.
Our surgeries invest greatly in these recent implant systems and we particularly practice the Nobel GuideŽ technology successfully. It makes it possible to resolve single, partial or total edentulism, i.e. the absence of one, several or all teeth.
This method allows us to examine the patient not just from a clinical viewpoint, but, thanks to a dedicated software, in a computerised way as well. The traditional clinical information (linked to the pre-operative visit, to the study of plaster moulds reproducing the patient's mouth) and X-Rays (obtained using panoramic X-Rays and specific CAT scans) are supplemented with a computerised analysis designed to simulate perfectly the actual anatomic situation of the patient requiring rehabilitation with implants.

Thanks to this technique, implant surgery is guided and there are a large number of prosthetic solutions available: provisional, definitive, screwed on or cemented, in any case fixed, thus capable of accommodating the most varying cosmetic and prosthetic requirements of any patient.

SEDATION IN DENTISTRY
Our surgeries offer you the opportunity to undergo oral surgery and implantology under conscious sedation.

Under certain circumstances (paediatric patients, adults with general health problems, disabled patients or those with a persistent vomiting reflex during dentist's sessions), Dr. Bona's team is supported by an anaesthetist specialising in general anaesthesia in dentistry.
The patient is induced into a state of deep sleep which does not however envisage the loss of respiratory control and therefore total anaesthesia, but simple sedation with the elimination of fear and absolute control over pain.

This makes it possible to cut surgery times considerably and on re-awakening, thanks to these brand new and safe drugs, the patient can simply go home without any post-operative problems.
All surgery envisaging the positioning of implants with the immediate load technique is performed under conscious sedation.
